Since 1989 Julie Stout has been a principal in Mitchell & Stout Architects.

Her work includes urban planning, schools, public buildings, commercial developments, multi-unit residential projects and individual houses. She is active in the urban design issues of Auckland , was a member of the Mayor’s Task Force on Urban Design and a previous chair of the Urban Issues Group of the NZIA Auckland Branch.

She was a recipient of the NZIA President’s Award in 2005.
